A Quiet Shift, A Deeper Alignment in Art

Embracing Change in the Art World
In 2024, I made a pivotal decision: I unlisted all of my artworks from Saatchi Art, Artfinder, and Singulart.
Before I dive into why, let me say this clearly: I deeply respect these platforms. They have created incredible opportunities for many artists around the world. Some of my peers continue to thrive through them, and I celebrate that.
However, the time had come for me to shift — to realign with my own pace, process, and presence.
“I no longer wanted my art to be just another scrollable thumbnail. I wanted it to be experienced, not browsed.”

2024: When Life Changed and Art Paused
In early 2024, I stepped into a new chapter — motherhood. The days became slower. Painting wasn’t a daily practice anymore. I stopped posting regularly. I gave myself permission to pause.
Despite the stillness, something unexpected happened.
“Even in stillness, my art kept moving — finding homes, finding hearts.”
Without constant updates and without the platforms, I was still able to sell artworks. They found homes at prices I felt aligned with. It felt as if my earlier consistency, the emotional resonance of my pieces, and the foundation I had quietly built… had taken on a life of their own.
Organic Growth in the Quiet
Even with less activity, two things helped keep my art visible and in circulation:

🌐 My featured class and promotion on My Modern Met Academy
📌 A surprisingly kind Pinterest algorithm, which began bringing consistent traffic to my website.
Both were quiet engines, working steadily behind the scenes.
“Visibility doesn’t always need noise — it needs intention.”

Why I Chose to Unlist from Online Art Marketplaces
Unlisting wasn’t a rejection of these platforms; it was a redirection of energy. Here’s what led to this essential shift:
🔄 Creative Control: I wanted to tell the full story of each piece, not just show it.
💬 Direct Connection: Building relationships with collectors became more important than being ‘discoverable.’ Connecting with collectors through mail has been fascinating. Learning where they discovered my art brings immense joy. Their kind words encourage and validate my work.
💸 Fair Pricing: Without third-party commissions, I could price my work thoughtfully — honoring its value. Many e-commerce websites allow buyers to negotiate prices, which can be exhausting and demotivating when attempts are made to lower them.
🧘🏽♀️ Balance: I needed time to be a mother and an artist, free from platform demands or performance metrics.

A New Way to Share Art
Today, I continue to share my work — but on my own terms.
Through my website www.nitikaale.com, where each collection resides in its intentional space.
Through my newsletter, sharing stories, studio updates, and early access to new pieces.
Through Instagram, where glimpses of motherhood and creativity coexist.
“This isn’t stepping away from art — it’s stepping closer to what matters.”
Let’s Stay Connected
If you found me on Saatchi, Singulart, or Artfinder — thank you. This new chapter is about depth, not volume; presence, not pressure.
